Multi-party interaction is a central setting for human communication and a necessary target for human-agent interaction systems that must participate in group conversation. Yet available corpora often focus on meetings, task-oriented interaction, text-based interaction, or acted scenarios, and fewer resources support cross-linguistic comparison of spontaneous face-to-face triadic discussion. This paper presents TEIDAN, a multilingual multimodal corpus that currently consists of Japanese and English three-party conversations. TEIDAN records groups of three participants discussing open-ended topics with individual pin microphones, a microphone array, and participant-facing cameras, and provides IPU-based transcripts for both language portions. Earlier studies used subsets of the Japanese portion for task-specific benchmarks in multi-party dialogue modeling; in contrast, this paper presents TEIDAN as a corpus resource spanning both Japanese and English, with planned expansion to additional languages. We describe the collection design, participants, recording setup, transcription format, and corpus statistics, and provide preliminary analyses to illustrate how TEIDAN can support research on turn-taking, addressee recognition, and multimodal grounding in human-human and human-agent interaction.

This paper introduces the Multilingual FrameNet Corpus (mFNC), a novel resource that extends the English Berkeley FrameNet corpus by collecting and harmonizing existing language-specific corpora across nine additional languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean, Latvian and Swedish. By training models that rely on different architectures on the mFNC, we consistently outperform existing state-of-the-art Frame Semantic Parsers in both multilingual and cross-lingual settings, underscoring the importance of multilingual training data. Vietnam's ethnic minority languages are almost absent from the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), and the challenge goes beyond data scarcity: Cham, Khmer, and Tay-Nung differ sharply in script, Vietnamese contact, and standardization, conditions under which standard multilingual adaptation can learn the wrong signals. We introduce CKTN, the first corpus and benchmark for these languages (44,367 documents, 24M subword tokens), spanning continued pretraining, category classification, and summary-document retrieval. We show that existing multilingual encoders severely fragment these languages, and that common adaptation metrics can mislead: models may lower language-modeling loss or excel at lexical-overlap retrieval while still failing at semantic generalization across documents. We address this with a script-aware adaptation recipe - vocabulary augmentation combined with calibrated replaced-token pretraining - that prevents the discriminator from exploiting trivial script mismatches. The result is an encoder with substantially less fragmentation and the strongest classification performance among evaluated models, exposing the limits of lexical-overlap retrieval as an evaluation signal.
We present a multilingual computational discourse analysis of how language constructed the algorithmic consecration of Vozinha, the 40-year-old Cape Verde goalkeeper, after Spain 0-0 Cape Verde at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The study contributes a multilingual corpus in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French; a nine-frame narrative taxonomy with cue-based frame annotation; a reproducible annotation pipeline combining LLM-assisted suggestion with human validation; and an analysis of cross-lingual narrative diffusion across discourse phases. We treat the platform follower count itself, narrated as "50k to 8M", as a linguistic object: a circulating and narratable proof of visibility rather than a mere measurement. The follower-growth timeline is used only as contextual metadata: we reconstruct a conservative phase structure, not a continuous API-native series, and type every datapoint by value class, confidence, and evidence type. The only exact primary scraper anchor is 8,235,652 followers at 2026-06-16 15:47 UTC; all other figures are reported as estimated ranges or thresholds, including an estimated pre-match baseline of 45k-56k. Findings suggest that distinct languages carried distinct frames: Portuguese mobilization, Spanish crisis, English nation-making, and a shared platform-metric spectacle through which peripheral athletic performance became globally visible. As a v0.1 pilot, the paper releases the corpus schema, frame taxonomy, annotation guidelines, hashed visual-evidence log, and typed timeline, while flagging full double annotation and inter-annotator agreement as planned work.
